Overview
eir evo talent are currently seeking applicants for an experienced Senior Network & Cyber Security Specialist. This is a day rate contract position located with our client in Dublin 4. This is a hybrid role. The inital duration of this contract is 6 months with additional contract renewals.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Head of IT, Microsoft Tenant Manager, and Network Manager, you’ll lead efforts to modernise, secure, and standardise the organisation’s network infrastructure while supporting its digital transformation and move toward a cloud-native environment.
- Strengthen and standardise the WAN, LAN, WLAN, remote access, and perimeter environments.
- Enhance resilience, visibility, access control, and incident readiness.
- Administer and optimise firewalls, segmentation, and network access controls (802.1X).
- Manage and monitor network performance, security events, and device configurations.
- Lead vulnerability assessments, incident response, and change control processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to ensure secure, reliable operations.
- Produce clear documentation, diagrams, and playbooks, and share knowledge with ETB staff.
- Support Azure cloud connectivity and security as part of the organisation’s digital strategy.
Skills & Experience
- Proven track record managing multi-site WAN/LAN/WLAN environments.
- Strong technical expertise in network design, operations, and troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, 802.1X, and RADIUS.
- Experience with Cisco routing & switching (IOS/NX-OS) and Cisco Meraki wireless.
- Proficiency in firewall administration, segmentation, and VPN configuration.
- Familiarity with VMware, Dell hardware, and Microsoft Azure (AD, VNets, security groups).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Analytical thinker and proactive problem solver.
Qualifications:
- Degree (NFQ Level 8 or higher) in a relevant IT discipline.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, Network+, Security+) desirable.
- Hands-on competence and practical experience are essential.
