Microsoft Infrastructure Technology Lead

  • Dublin City based Day-Rate Hybrid Contract

This exciting contract is a bit less hands on than the norm and more focused on the oversight of the Microsoft technology for our financial/insurance sector client. Our client is in a very regulated industry and a lot of the day to day hands on work is carried out by vendors and third parties. If selected for this position you will be the key technical liaison between the client and the third parties to ensure stability, maintenance and future proofing of the Microsoft environment.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System Oversight and Maintenance: Oversee the administration, and maintenance of Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Azure solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices
  • SharePoint Management: Management of the SharePoint Information Architecture including an Intranet, Departmental Sites, Knowledge Sharing Sites, and Collaboration Spaces.
  • User Support and Training: Provide escalation support and training to users and IT staff, ensuring they are proficient in using the Microsoft based services we provide.
  • Strategic Planning: As part of the wider CIO team collaborate with IT Systems Manager and Lead IT Manager to develop and implement strategies for the effective use of Microsoft 365 and Azure services to meet business goals including roll out and adoption of technologies such as Copilot and Power Bi.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with our managed services, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery and support of Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions
  • Project Management: Act as lead in projects related to the delivery of Microsoft 365 and Azure based solutions aligning with the business requirements and needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Any other ad hoc duties when required

SUMMARY OF ROLE COMPETENCIES

  • Experience of working within a regulated sector and an understanding of the implications of the same on IT Operations.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Solid experience liaising with and managing external IT vendors at a technical level
  • Strong understanding of industry best practice particularly in relation to Azure and Microsoft Stack including Intune, O365, AIP
  • Proven track record in striving for continuous improvement and driving efficiencies, whilst maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and deal with changing priorities
  • Well organised and self-motivated
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ambition to exceed expectations
  • Desirable but not essential for the role:
    • Experience of working in the insurance sector, preferably in a cross-border business environment
    • Experience in working in a multilingual, multicultural environment
    • Experience with ISO27001 Standard
