Statistician Data Analyst
 

  • Remote/Hybrid (Occasionally Onsite in Ballina, Co. Mayo)
  • December 2024 start ideally

 
You must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the role as Statistician/Data Analyst. No other experience levels will be accepted. 
 
You must hold a formal qualification in data analytics or a related discipline at Level 8 (or higher) on the National Framework of Qualifications.
 
 
Competencies & Skillsets

  • Practical use of advanced technical data analysis techniques to include writing and using complex SQL for extraction, manipulation, and data cleansing as well as query optimisation and, writing of complex stored procedures.
  • Practical use of Tableau to produce advanced data visualisations.
  • Specific project-based experience on applying descriptive and predictive analytics executed via tools / use of R and Python coding languages.
  • Using SSIS / Azure Data Factory to design and implement data ingestions (including any data transformations) into an On-Prem / Azure SQL instance.
  • Ability to write quality technical support documents which set out and explain approach taken on specific work item/report delivered and to carry out walkthrough of same with team members.
  • Handling of multiple business priority requests/work items ensuring quality on time delivery aligned to business needs.

 
 
Key Deliverables

  1. Extraction of information via multiple complex SQL joins to various data stores and presenting insights back in Tableau data visualisations aligned to data visualisation standards.
  2. Applying analytics, including if required using statistical analysis / data mining methodologies, to better understand customers, predictive behaviour modelling, risk analysis, compliance management, customer segmentation and pattern recognition.
  3. Assist and input into the design of our clients Enterprise Data Model to enable ingestion, transformation, cleansing and consolidation of data in a standardised format which can then be made available to business users to self-serve on reporting.
  4. Lead and review on the validation of proposed production data migration systems in terms of ensuring continuation of existing business reports.
  5. Enhancing data quality and data integrity across all datasets via identification of data anomalies via scripts which be integrated onto Data Quality Monitoring Framework.
  6. Ensure Data Reporting platform operates at maximum performance efficiency by developing indexing strategies and regularly fine-tuning queries, reporting table creation processes and so on.
  7. Input as required into the design, development, and delivery of the overall Data Strategy.
  8. Follow defined Data Team processes and visualisation standards as set out by Data Analytics Manager and contribute to the development of new processes/process refinements via continuous improvement process.
  9. Facilitate knowledge transfer into Data Analysis team by allowing shadowing, holding walkthrough sessions as part of internal upskilling programs.
  10. Report and update weekly to Data Analytics Manager, all work items assigned to include progress update, status of item, target date for completion and any risks or issues on assigned work items.
  11. Adhere to all ICT security policies and procedures with regard to network and security access.
