Overview

Role : Senior Oracle Developer
Job Type: Contract for 12 months + upto 2 extensions of 12 months each
Location:Athlone, Ireland (3 days onsite per week). 


Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with Database design and implementation
  • Development and maintenance of package code / stored procedures on an ongoing basis to support the IT Systems Development team within the SEC
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database problems, including database tuning.
  • Advising developers on best practise and optimal approach in the use of PL/SQL
  • Identifying any shortcomings of database systems and recommending improvements.
  • Completing assigned tasks related to phases of development lifecycle of applications within scope and timeframe requirements
  • Developing customised reports
  • Mentoring and facilitating skills transfer to SEC staff
  • Assisting in Oracle Upgrade and Migration Projects
  • Any other tasks which are considered by the SEC to be appropriate to the role.

Key Experience:

  • Experience in the development and maintenance of PL/SQL packages making full use of the latest features in PL/SQL, with specific emphasis on advance PL/SQL. As part of the response Tenderers must include a minimum of one example.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Oracle Forms/Reports, including the creation/modification of forms and also the management of forms server configuration files and the installation of forms. As part of the response Tenderers must include a minimum of one example.  
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Aix & Windows Operating Systems. As part of the response Tenderers must include a minimum of one example.
  • Demonstrate knowledge with SQL Developer. As part of the response Tenderers must include a minimum of one example
  • Demonstrate experience in skills transfer in relation to Oracle forms, reports, and PL/SQL. As part of the response Tenderers must include a minimum of one example.

 
Candidates should hold appropriate RTWs for Ireland i.e. Stamp1G, Stamp 4, Irish/British/EU passport.
