NEWS: Squid partners with Square as it eyes up to €20 million in new funding

eir evo talent: The company are not yet advertising an extensive number of roles but we would expect them to look to grow as this partnership takes effect and once funding is secured.

Squid is to collaborate with the fintech Square to introduce spend-based loyalty programmes to independent hospitality and retail businesses across Ireland. The news comes as the company, which is led by Matthew Coffey and Katie Farrell, announced plans to raise between €10 million and €20 million in a Series A funding round.

The company began in Ireland & the UK and has recently expanded to the Netherlands and Australia. The company’s goal is to provide a loyalty platform that works for businesses of all sizes. They offer both stamp-based programs and now points-based systems, aiming to provide options that fit each unique business need.

NEWS: Ardanis Technologies to create 20 new jobs to develop AI product

eir evo talent: The new roles will be created over the next year and will include sales, marketing, support and AI-driven technology. Half of the new roles will be based in Ireland.

Irish software and digital consulting company Ardanis Technologies is creating 20 new jobs to support the development of its AI call centre tool, Aileen.

The product is designed to integrate into existing systems used by contact centres to help manage the volume of calls and other inbound requests through automation

Founded in 2016, Ardanis Technologies currently employs 42 people, having grown rapidly in 2021 following a €2m investment.

The company has offices in Dublin, London and Portugal, the latter of which was announced in 2022 as part of its European expansion plans

NEWS: Zoom to create 100 jobs in Ireland at Workvivo subsidiary

eir evo talent: The roles will be across the business, with a particular focus on product and engineering as Workvivo plans to invest further in research and innovation. The company has a number of roles open across Ireland, US and Japan with a focus on CS and solution engineering positions.

Cork-founded Workvivo, which is owned by Zoom, is to create 100 high tech jobs in Ireland over the next two years as it positions itself for new growth.

The jobs are a significant expansion for the company, which currently employs 150 people in Ireland and 300 across the world.

“We have about 70 people in R&D today and 95 per cent are Ireland-based,” said Andrea Graham, head of product and engineering with Workvivo. “Our plan is to scale in Ireland and we have a lot of support from IDA Ireland to do this.”

The announcement came as parent company Zoom opened its first major facility in Ireland, with its new Cork engagement hub offering a technology-first approach to hybrid working, integrating the company’s technology into workspaces.

NEWS: Luminate Medical raises €13.5m for at-home cancer treatment solutions

eir evo talent: The company are hiring for a Senior R&D engineer and we would imagine will look to hire more in the wake of this funding. We would expect to see a blend of research, manufacturing, hardware and software roles.

Galway-headquartered medtech Luminate Medical has raised $15m to bring its cancer care to more patients in the comfort of their own homes.

The company’s Series A round was led by Artis Ventures, with participation from Metaplanet, Lachy Groom, 8VC and healthcare executives from companies such as Dexcom. The round was also supported by existing investors such as SciFounders and Faber.

The start-up plans to use this funding to continue developing its products and conduct large-scale clinical trials, with plans to get FDA approval and a market launch in the near future. Luminate aims to get first revenues for one of its products in 2025.

NEWS: CarTrawler to cut 10% of workforce amid strategic shift – but new roles will follow

eir evo talent: It is not yet clear who will be directly impacted by this news but we will see some attrition. The new roles are likely to look to integrate new technologies to their solution and it will be interesting to see their exact profile.

CarTrawler employs around 400 people, which suggests that approximately 40 people are at risk of losing their job.

NEWS: Chargebee opens Dublin office to boost European expansion

eir evo talent: Chargebee plans to grow its Dublin team to 50 people over the next three years and said this office will serve and expand its customer base brands, including xSellco, Oddbox, Personio and Typeform.

US company Chargebee has opened a new office in Dublin to bring its revenue growth management services to more European customers.

The company said this new office is an important milestone in its plans to accelerate growth and enhance its market presence across the continent. Chargebee now has six offices around the world, including locations in the US, India and a European HQ in the Netherlands

The US company provides a revenue growth management platform for subscription businesses. Chargebee said its platform helps companies acquire, grow and retain revenue while simplifying this aspect of their operations.

NEWS: Proofpoint to open new office in Cork, creating 150 new jobs

eir evo talent: The Cork city centre hub will initially house key functions for the business, including engineering, research and development, customer support, finance, and marketing.

Cybersecurity and compliance company Proofpoint is set to open a new office in Cork, creating more that 150 jobs in the next two years.

The company, which is headquartered in California, has offices worldwide, including in the UK and Northern Ireland. Proofpoint currently has over 4,500 employees globally, with over 100 employees already employed in Cork.

NEWS: Payroll software firm UKG to add 200 jobs at Kilkenny hub

eir evo talent: UKG said Kilkenny has become a “thriving technology hub” in recent times, specialising in cybersecurity. The company said it will create roughly 200 new roles in the area, “with a focus on cybersecurity, but also including customer success, research and development, and professional services”.

UKG, the US-based payroll and human resources software company, is to create 200 jobs at its Kilkenny base which has been chosen as its new global operations hub.

The company, which is supported by IDA Ireland, has operated a facility on the outskirts of Kilkenny City since acquiring multinational payroll technology company Immedis in 2023.

NEWS: AR startup Imvizar raises €1.5 million in funding for US expansion

eir evo talent: The company have less than 20 employees but we would imagine this will grow with this and they will likely use some of this funding to build out their team with technical expertise, GTM and AR based roles in design and technology.

Irish augmented reality start-up Imvizar has raised €1.5 million in funding to launch its no-code augmented reality creation tool Lureo and support expansion in the US.

The investment includes backing from Delta Partners VC, alongside continued support from former head of Meta Ireland Gareth Lambe, Pigsback founder Michael Dywer, former group CTO of Ooredoo Nigel Byrne and Enterprise Ireland.

The company is aiming to open up augmented reality story-telling tools to creators worldwide. Founded by Michael Geurin in 2021, Imvizar creates immersive experiences for tourism and entertainment, bringing characters and environments to life. The company already works with a number of tourist attractions, artists, influencers and universities, blending technology and storytelling.

NEWS: US-Irish company CloudSphere raises $12m

eir evo talent: The company have a significant presence in Ireland and we would imagine will look to continue to have talent here. The company are not aggresively hiring but we would expect there will be hiring in the wake of this fund raise.

CloudSphere has successfully raised $12 million in a Series B funding round led by Atlantic Bridge, with participation from key global investors, including ST Engineering and others.

eir evo talent: It said the new roles are spread across positions in technical support, sales, marketing, and partner support, and come as the threat of cybercrime continues to grow worldwide.

Cork-based cybersecurity solutions company Smarttech247 has announced plans to hire 50 more people as it continues to grow in its key international markets.

Smarttech247 now has offices across Ireland, the UK, Romania, Poland and the US and currently employs over 200 people across all of its operations.

NEWS: Tekenable to create 20 Irish jobs for its aviation division

eir evo talent: The company is hiring for its new system called Tekaviation, which is designed to support aviation lessors as they move away from legacy systems. Tekenable said this system was designed by experts for the leasing industry and speaks the language of the sector.

Dublin-headquartered company Tekenable is creating 20 new jobs in Ireland as it launches a specialist system for aviation leasing customers.

These new jobs will be created over the next four years and will include sales, development, support, marketing and management roles. The company has a Dublin office but says it is “remote-first” and is currently recruiting for several permanent roles in Ireland.
